Governors State University brought energy and excitement to campus with its Pancakes & Pajamas: Late Night Breakfast event held on Wednesday, April 29 at Jaguar Cafe. Organized by the Center for Student Engagement and Leadership, the event attracted a large number of students looking to take a break from their exam preparations and enjoy a relaxing evening.
Students arrived dressed in their favorite (campus-appropriate) pajamas, creating a fun and comfortable atmosphere. “It was really nice to just relax and not think about exams for a while,” said one student attendee. The highlight for many was the delicious complimentary breakfast, which included pancakes, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, and more perfect comfort food to recharge during a busy week.
In addition to the food, the event featured music, games, and giveaways that kept the energy high throughout the night. One of the most popular attractions was the mechanical bull. Students eagerly took turns trying to stay on, while others gathered around to cheer them on. “I didn’t last more than five seconds, but it was so much fun,” a participant laughed. The bull proved to be quite a challenge, and many riders couldn’t hold on for long, leading to laughter-filled moments as they fell off.
Overall, the event was a great success, bringing together students from across campus to unwind, connect, and create lasting memories. As finals approach, Pancakes & Pajamas served as a reminder that taking a break and enjoying time with others can make all the difference.
