Governors State University released the unofficial results for the 2026–27 Student Senate Special Election after students cast their votes through the Jaguar Connection portal from April 29 to May 1.
The special election was organized to fill vacant executive leadership positions within the Student Senate following the certification of the 2027 election results. According to Jaguar Connection Student Ballots, a total of 61 votes were cast during the election period.
For the position of Student Senate President, Kendall Dow received 34 votes, representing 57% of the total vote, while William Fulth received 27 votes, accounting for 44%.
In the race for Student Senate Vice President, Jamesina Collier received 56 votes, or 92% of the total votes cast for the position. Five ballots selected “No Vote for Position.”
The Student Senate serves as a representative body for the student population at Governors State University, advocating for student concerns, supporting campus initiatives and collaborating with university leadership. Executive board members play a role in organizing student-focused programs and helping shape campus engagement opportunities.
University officials previously encouraged students to participate in the election process and consider leadership opportunities through Student Senate involvement.
