Governors State University marked Women’s History Month with a vibrant and meaningful celebration on March 26, as the International Culture Organization (ICO) hosted a fundraiser at the ARC Cove near the Student Success Commons. Running from 12 to 2 p.m., the event brought together students and staff to honor women from around the world while supporting a great cause.
The celebration featured a variety of engaging activities that highlighted global cultures and traditions. Attendees enjoyed the “Women Around the World” photo booth, where they could capture moments inspired by diverse cultural backgrounds. Henna designs were also a major attraction, drawing participants eager to experience this traditional art form. In addition, a selection of international snacks gave guests a taste of flavors from different parts of the world.
Beyond the festivities, the event served a larger purpose raising funds and awareness for the upcoming “Jaguars Without Borders” cultural event. Through this initiative, ICO aims to celebrate global diversity and bring the campus community closer together.
The fundraiser saw strong participation from both students and staff, creating an atmosphere of unity, appreciation, and cultural exchange. As the event concluded, it left attendees with a deeper appreciation for women’s contributions worldwide and excitement for future cultural celebrations at Governors State University.
