The Governors State University women’s bowling team closed out its season at the 2026 ISC Intercollegiate Singles Sectional Qualifier on March 13 in Addison, Illinois, with nine Jaguars competing in a field of 244 bowlers from across the country. The tournament served as a qualifying event for the ISC National Championship, with the top eight finishers earning a bid, and Governors State came closer than the final standings might suggest.
Leading the way was Jenna Ritchie, who turned in the strongest performance of any Jaguar on the day, finishing 17th overall with a six-game total of 1,192 pins. Ritchie’s day featured a pair of 200-plus games, including a high of 223 in game two and a 209 in game five, and she closed consistently throughout. The 8th and final qualifying spot was decided at 1,207 pins, meaning Ritchie was just 15 pins away from advancing to nationals in a field of 244 competitors. It was a performance that should give the program plenty of confidence heading into next season.
Kahlen Ranson and Lacie Wenzler were the next Jaguars in, finishing 60th and 64th, respectively. Ranson posted a 1,099 total, highlighted by a strong closing game of 223, while Wenzler matched her at 1,097 with two standout games of 226 and 223 of her own. Olivia Daujatas came in 85th with a 1,075 total, opening with back-to-back games of 203 and 199 before settling in through the final four frames.
Cameryn Landers finished 94th at 1,058, showing resilience with a steady mid-round stretch that included a 203 in game two and a 188 in game five. Natalie Stahulak placed 139th with 1,013, bouncing back from a difficult third game to post a 220 in game two and a 202 in game four. Samantha Mann rounded out the mid-field group at 148th with a 1,008 total, delivering a solid 194 in game three to anchor her performance.
Kylie Schaefer competed to a 163rd-place finish with a 989 total, including a 200 in game five and a 192 opener, while Haley Leuze closed out the Jaguar roster at 221st with a 901.
As a program, Governors State sent nine bowlers to one of the most competitive sectional fields in the country and came within striking distance of a national qualification. With the kind of consistency Ritchie showed and the depth the Jaguars displayed across the lineup, the future of this program is bright. Congratulations to the entire women’s bowling team on a strong season. The hard work is showing, and next year, the goal of punching that national bid is well within reach.
