Governors State 3, Davenport 0
Governors State opened the man’s volleyball trip with a dominant straight-set victory over Davenport, earning a 3–0 sweep behind a balanced offensive effort and strong play at the net.
The Jaguars controlled the tempo throughout the match, using efficient attacking and solid defense to keep Davenport from building momentum. GovState’s consistent serving pressure and disciplined blocking helped them maintain control from the opening set through the finish.
The sweep gave the Jaguars an early boost as they continued their road stretch and looked to carry that momentum into the following matches.
Governors State 3, Viterbo 1
GovState followed with another strong performance, defeating Viterbo in four sets, 25–16, 19–25, 25–17, 25–15.
The Jaguars came out firing in the opening set, hitting .379 as a team and establishing control early. Viterbo answered in the second set to even the match, but GovState regrouped quickly and took the final two sets with strong offensive runs and improved defense.
Leading the attack was Pablo Pascual, who finished with 18 kills while hitting .351 and adding 13 digs. Daniel Lopez added 12 kills and contributed at the net with two blocks.
Diego Antunez also recorded 12 kills while delivering three service aces to help keep pressure on the Viterbo defense.
Running the offense was Lucas Lapa, who tallied 44 assists while helping the Jaguars total 58 kills in the match. On the defensive end, Jared Byas anchored the back row with 22 digs.
Dordt 3, Governors State 0
Governors State closed the day against a strong Dordt squad, falling in straight sets 25–18, 25–18, 25–17.
The Jaguars battled throughout the match but struggled to find consistent offensive rhythm against Dordt’s efficient attack, which hit over .360 as a team.
Pablo Pascual once again led GovState offensively with 11 kills while adding five digs. Diego Antunez contributed five kills and four digs, and Thiago Neves added five kills at the net.
Lucas Lapa recorded 19 assists in the match while helping direct the Jaguars offense, and Pedro Oliveira chipped in with two kills and a block.
Despite the loss, the Jaguars showed resilience throughout the road stretch and continued to build experience as they prepared to return home for their next matchup against Saint Xavier, Thursday March 5, at home.
