I had the wonderful opportunity to participate in the “Painted with Love” event in celebration of Valentine’s Week. Six paintbrushes, each covered in a vibrant color of the rainbow, lined the table, creating a cheerful and inspiring atmosphere. The room was filled with soft conversation, the gentle clinking of paintbrushes against palettes, and the bright energy of students coming together to create something meaningful.
During the event, we painted wooden hearts and wrote thoughtful messages and literary quotes to donate to a local retirement home. Some hearts were adorned with intricate rainbow patterns, while others carried inspiring quotes or small doodles each one unique, heartfelt, and full of intention. One participant shared, “I wanted to write something that would remind someone they’re not forgotten,” which captured the purpose behind many of our designs.
Being part of this event made me feel deeply connected to the spirit of giving and community. Another student mentioned, “It’s nice to do something creative that actually helps someone else, even in a small way.” Valentine’s Week is often associated with love for friends and family, but this experience reminded me that love can also be shared through small gestures of care for others.
I enjoyed seeing the creativity of fellow students and sharing ideas as we worked together. There was laughter, encouragement, and a genuine sense of camaraderie. As one participant expressed, “I didn’t expect this to be so calming it feels good to create something kind.” I felt genuinely happy and fulfilled attending this event, knowing our painted hearts would carry smiles to those who need them.
The “Painted with Love” initiative was more than just an arts-and-crafts activity it was a celebration of compassion, creativity, and connection. It reminded me that small, thoughtful actions can have a ripple effect, brightening not only someone else’s day but also your own. I am grateful to have been part of such a meaningful experience and to help spread love and joy this Valentine’s Week.
