The Innovation Club successfully hosted its post-event “Meet, Greet & Innovate” on Wednesday, Feb. 4, bringing together students, faculty, and innovation enthusiasts for an afternoon focused on creativity, collaboration, and emerging technology.
A highlight of the event was an engaging session on robotics led by Dr. Jan Figa, who shared insights into the growing impact of robotics across industries. Figa discussed how innovation and hands-on experimentation play critical roles in preparing students for future technological challenges. The session sparked meaningful conversations and encouraged students to explore robotics as both a learning tool and a career pathway.
The event also served as a platform to strengthen connections among club members, welcoming new participants while reinforcing the Innovation Club’s mission of fostering curiosity, problem-solving, and interdisciplinary thinking.
Looking ahead, the Innovation Club announced its upcoming event on Wednesday, Feb. 11, from 5 to 6:30 p.m., to be held at Spencer Crossing Intermediate School, located at 1711 S Spencer Rd, New Lenox, IL 60451. The event will continue the club’s focus on innovation, hands-on activities, and community engagement.
Students interested in staying involved are encouraged to attend regular Innovation Club meetings, which are held on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of each month from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Throughout the semester, the club aims to provide a collaborative space for learning, experimentation, and idea sharing.
The “Meet, Greet & Innovate” event marked a strong start to an exciting semester ahead, reinforcing the Innovation Club’s commitment to inspiring creativity and advancing innovation across campus and the community.
