Governors State University has announced an extension of the enrollment “add” period following recent extreme weather conditions that led to temporary campus closures. The decision is intended to give students additional time and flexibility to complete their registration without being negatively impacted by circumstances beyond their control.
University officials emphasized that the extension is designed to support students who may have faced delays in accessing campus services or meeting enrollment deadlines due to weather-related disruptions. By extending the add period, the university aims to ensure that all students have a fair opportunity to finalize their academic schedules for the term.
Students are encouraged to connect with their academic advisors as soon as possible to review course options and complete the enrollment process. Advisors can help confirm eligibility, resolve registration issues, and ensure students remain on track with their academic plans.
In addition, students may visit Student Central for in-person assistance. Student Central is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and is located in room D1400. Staff members are available to help with enrollment, registration questions, and other student services.
The university also reminded students that add-period timing is based on when each course first met, meaning deadlines may vary by class. Students are advised to review their course schedules carefully and take prompt action to take advantage of the extended enrollment period.
