Governors State earned a solid home victory on Saturday night, defeating Viterbo 78–65 to improve to 17–7 overall and 11–3 in conference play. The Jaguars built momentum in the first half and maintained control after the break, shooting an efficient 54.7 percent from the field while winning the rebounding battle 49–31. Maxwell Marius led the way with a game-high 21 points on 9-of-12 shooting, adding seven rebounds and four assists. Trae Warren provided a strong spark off the bench with 14 points, while Colin Adams paced Viterbo with 18 points. Vincent Mayes anchored the interior with 11 rebounds and three blocks as GovState’s defensive presence limited Viterbo to 40.4 percent shooting and just 20 percent from beyond the arc.
