As the fall semester draws to a close, Governors State University has announced key dates for students and faculty to remember as the campus prepares for Winter Break.
The fall term will officially end on Sunday, Dec. 7, with final grades due one week later on Sunday, Dec. 14. Faculty members are expected to submit all student grades by this deadline to ensure timely processing for the semester.
Following the completion of the academic term, the university’s offices will close for Winter Break from Tuesday, Dec. 24, through Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2026. During this time, campus operations will be closed for the holidays, including Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day, allowing the GovState community to celebrate with family and friends.
Normal business operations will resume when offices reopen in the new year on Jan. 2. Students who need to access campus services or contact university departments should make arrangements before the closure begins or plan to do so after offices reopen in January.
For urgent matters during the break, students are encouraged to check the GovState website for emergency contact information or reach out to campus security.
