As the campus settles into the holiday stretch and students gear up for final exams, GovState Athletics is hitting a packed stretch of competition. With just one game left before the break officially begins, and several more lined up during what’s usually one of the busiest academic weeks of the year, the Jaguars will stay active even while classrooms quiet down.
GovState’s final event before the break comes on Wednesday, Dec. 3, when Women’s Basketball heads to Bourbonnais to face Olivet Nazarene at 5:30 p.m. It’s the last midweek action before most students shift their attention to studying, travel, and end-of-semester deadlines.
Once the weekend hits, though, the schedule picks right back up. Women’s Bowling opens competition at the Ebonite Warhawk Open on Saturday, Dec. 6, in Addison, while two GovState basketball teams head north for a doubleheader at Viterbo. The Jaguars will play back-to-back in La Crosse, with Women’s Basketball tipping at 1 p.m. and Men’s Basketball following at 3 p.m.
Bowling closes out its tournament run on Sunday, Dec. 7, returning to Stardust Bowl for Day 2 of the Warhawk Open.
GovState finishes the week with a home event right in University Park. On Tuesday, Dec. 9, the Jaguars return to the ARC as Women’s Basketball hosts IU Columbus at 5:30 p.m., marking the first on-campus game since before the break, and a chance for students to catch a game in between exams.
With finals approaching, travel underway, and the semester winding down, it’s a packed stretch to keep up with. But for anyone wanting to follow along during the holiday rush or in between study sessions, GovState Athletics will be active all week long.
