Governors State University proudly hosted its annual Holiday Meal Drive-Up on November 20,sharing holiday warmth and support with students, residents, faculty/staff, and surrounding community members. From 12 to 3 p.m., cars steadily lined up at the Carillon Area (D Entrance front sidewalk) to receive complimentary holiday meal boxes.
Each box included:
A whole turkey
A bag of potatoes
️ Additional sides and essentials
These boxes helped ensure families across our community could enjoy a complete and comforting holiday meal during this special season.
The event was organized by the Center for Student Engagement and Leadership, with tremendous support from volunteers across the university. Students from various parts of campus stepped forward to help, demonstrating true Jaguar spirit. In addition, several club members participated, offering their time and energy to serve the community.
A special acknowledgment goes to the Kaleidoscope Community Service Council Members, who also attended and volunteered. Their dedication to outreach, compassion, and community service made a meaningful impact throughout the event.
Thanks to the strong participation from the campus community and the generous efforts of all volunteers, all meal boxes were successfully distributed, making this a memorable and impactful day of giving.
As we reflect on the event, we celebrate the unity and care shown by everyone involved—students, volunteers, club members, council members, and local families—coming together to uplift our community during the holiday season.
Wishing everyone a warm, safe, and joyful holiday season!
