GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The Governors State men’s cross country team finished 20th out of 30 teams at the Aquinas College Invitational, competing against a deep field at Riverside Park.
Top Finishers:
✦ Daniel Zavala — 50th
✦ Samuel Rocio — 56th
✦ Colin O’Brien — 69th
✦ Branden DeLeon — 160th
✦ Ian French — 164th
Zavala led the Jaguars with a top-50 finish, followed closely by Rocio and O’Brien, who packed tightly to keep GovState in the upper tier of the standings through the first three scoring spots. DeLeon and French rounded out the team’s top five in a race that drew intense regional competition.
GovState now turns its focus to the CCAC Championship Meet on Saturday, Nov. 8.
