The Center for Community Media at Governors State University will host a “Silent Podcast Party” on Tuesday, Oct. 28, from 6-8 p.m., in the Social Justice Initiative Building which is located on University Parkway between University Drive and the Prairie Place residential hall.
The event starts with music and refreshments by GovState alumnus DJ Tam from 6–6:30 p.m. At 6:30 p.m., attendees will don headphones and listen to audio stories by BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and people of color) and LGBTQ creators, followed by a guided discussion.
Chicago-based storyteller and media producer Anna DeShawn, founder of E3 Radio and The Qube, will lead the event. DeShawn, who is a member of the Chicago LGBTQ Hall of Fame, also serves on the Advisory Board for the Center for Community Media.
