Governors State women’s bowling continued its strong start to the fall season, placing 10th out of 28 teams at the Columbia 300 Western Shootout, held October 11–12 at Western Bowl in Indianapolis, Ind. The Jaguars totaled 8,316 pins across the two-day tournament, competing against a deep national field.
Junior Kahlen Ranson led the way with a standout performance, rolling a 1,175 series and averaging 195.83 to finish 17th overall out of more than 200 individual bowlers. Junior Samantha Mann provided a major spark off the bench, firing games of 237 and 196 for a 216.5 average in limited play.
GovState’s depth once again proved key, with consistent contributions throughout the lineup helping the Jaguars maintain a steady position in the standings. The team also fielded a JV squad that placed 7th with 5,195 total pins, showcasing the program’s growing depth and competitive edge.
The Jaguars will look to carry their momentum into November as they head to Rock Island, Ill., for the Leatherneck Classic, Nov. 8–9, their next major tournament on the fall schedule.
