Governors State battled to a 2–2 draw on the road at Indiana South Bend on Tuesday night, rallying late behind a clutch finish from Koumba Dembele in the 83rd minute.
The Jaguars opened the scoring midway through the first half when Ana Rodrigues buried an unassisted strike at the 27-minute mark. After the Titans pulled even early in the second half and then took a brief 2–1 lead, GovState pressed forward relentlessly. Their effort paid off when Dembele, assisted by Hannah Mailander, converted from close range to secure the tie.
Rodrigues and Dembele each found the back of the net once, while Mailander picked up the lone assist. Keeper Valentina Jimenez combined with Mailander to record seven saves in the match as the Jaguars weathered an aggressive second-half attack.
GovState outshot nine of its 13 attempts on goal and matched IUSB evenly in fouls and corners, showing poise under pressure despite a late red card.
The Jaguars return home Friday, Oct. 10, to host Judson (IL) in Crown Point, looking to build on the momentum from their resilient road performance.
