Governors State University hosted the International Mix & Mingle on Thursday, Aug. 28, from 11 a.m., to 1 p.m. in Engbretson Hall.
The purpose of the event was to bring together new and returning students, helping them feel welcomed and informed about campus life. Throughout the gathering, numerous student organizations were present with booths. Representatives shared clear, practical details about their clubs, what they do, and how students could get involved.
Attendees enjoyed light refreshments, listened to background music, and participated in simple icebreaker games designed to ease introductions and encourage interaction. These structured opportunities allowed students to meet peers, ask questions, and express interests in specific clubs or activities.
By the end of the event, many students had collected contact information, signed up for club mailing lists, and made plans to attend future meetings. International Mix & Mingle 2025 served as an effective and organized welcome, helping to foster new connections and introducing students to involvement opportunities across campus.
