Indiana Northwest 3, Governors State 1 (Sept. 11)
Governors State opened its week on the road in Gary, taking the first set 25–23 before Indiana Northwest responded to win the next three. The Jaguars battled throughout, with their most efficient stretch coming in the third set when they hit .146 as a team.
Senior outside hitter Trenyce Bonner led all attackers with 16 kills and added a team-high 20 digs for 16 points. Mia Barr contributed six kills on .200 hitting, and Joharis Castillo tallied nine kills along with two block assists.
Tabor 3, Governors State 0 (Sept. 12)
The Jaguars began their Iowa tournament run against Tabor, falling in straight sets. Despite the result, GovState showed resilience in the third frame, pushing to 23 points.
Castillo carried the offense with seven kills, while freshman middle hitter Delia MacDonald provided an efficient spark with four kills on a .231 hitting percentage.
McPherson 3, Governors State 0 (Sept. 12)
McPherson controlled play at the net, limiting GovState’s attack in a three-set sweep. Still, Castillo shone with five kills on a .286 clip, her most efficient match of the weekend. Deborah Ortiz also converted one of her two swings for a .500 percentage, showing promise in limited attempts.
Dordt 3, Governors State 0 (Sept. 13)
Against Dordt, GovState finished with 17 kills spread across the lineup. MacDonald again anchored the offense with four kills on .300 hitting. Barr and Bonner each added four kills, while Jennifer Barwicka chipped in three. The balanced attack gave the Jaguars one of their more varied score sheets of the tournament.
Saint Mary 3, Governors State 0 (Sept. 13)
The finale against Saint Mary showcased some of the Jaguars’ best individual outings of the weekend. Bonner turned in her strongest performance with nine kills on .286 hitting, plus three solo blocks to finish with 12 total points. MacDonald followed with four kills on .333 efficiency, while Barr, Castillo, and Barwicka each contributed offensively.
GovState’s second set was a highlight, as the team hit .273, its most efficient frame of the entire road trip, proving the Jaguars can find rhythm when their offense is clicking.
