The GovState Women’s Golf team closed out their season this past week at the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship, held at the Lincolnshire Golf Course in Crete, Illinois. With grit and determination, the Jaguars stepped onto the course for the final time this spring, finishing their season strong despite not posting a team score.
On Day 1 (April 23), Kelsey Brown led the way with a score of 109, followed by Alexis Foltz with a 114. The pair returned to the course the next day, showing remarkable consistency and resilience. Kelsey trimmed eight strokes off her first-round score to finish with a 101, while Alexis continued to battle through with a 116.
While GovState may not have fielded a full team score, Kelsey and Alexis’s individual efforts throughout the season deserve recognition. Competing with a small roster takes a special dedication, and these athletes showed up each time with passion, persistence, and pride.
As the season comes to a close, we extend heartfelt congratulations to the entire women’s golf team. Your commitment to representing GovState on and off the course has not gone unnoticed. Thank you for your hard work, and here’s to rest, reflection, and the continued pursuit of excellence in seasons to come.
