Governors State University’s College of Business proudly presented the Alumni Reception on Thursday, April 24, from 6 to 9 p.m., at the Center for Performing Arts. The evening brought together alumni, students, faculty, and staff for a night of networking, celebration, and learning.
Ahmed “Flex” Omar, a GSU College of Business alumnus and founder of FlexTech.ai, delivered the keynote address titled “The Future of Business: AI, Innovation, and Adaptability.” A serial entrepreneur and advisor specializing in human-centered design, social innovation, and business mentorship, Omar shared insights on how businesses must adapt to thrive in an era shaped by artificial intelligence and innovation.
With a career spanning finance, consulting, and nonprofit leadership, Flex has worked with organizations such as Deloitte, UBS, RSM, and NASDAQ, and has been recognized by WVON’s “40 Under 40.” His keynote provided valuable guidance on staying resilient and forward-thinking in an evolving global economy.
The reception included a formal dinner where GSU alumni and students engaged in lively conversations, built professional connections, and shared career experiences. Many alumni returned to campus for the occasion, strengthening the bond between GSU graduates and the next generation of business leaders.
