The Governors State University women’s golf team took on a challenging field at the 2025 Judson Spring Invite on Tuesday, April 15, at the Golf Club of Illinois. The single-round event featured programs across NCAA, NAIA, and NJCAA levels, providing the Jaguars with competitive experience as they prepare for the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) Championship on April 23.
Alexis Foltz led the Jaguas with a round of 119, showing composure across a tricky course layout as she navigated through tough pin placements and breezy conditions. Kelsey Brown also competed but was marked as DNF for the event. Despite the challenges, the Jaguars remained committed and gained crucial experience heading into the postseason stretch.
While GSU didn’t place in the upper ranks of the team standings this time, the opportunity to compete alongside deeper rosters from Elmhurst, MSOE, and Lake Forest offered valuable insight into the type of play needed at the conference level.
The Jaguars will next compete in the CCAC Championship, a three-day event scheduled to begin on Wednesday, April 23, at Lincolnshire Golf Course in Crete, Illinois. With more time to prepare and a better understanding of the competition landscape, GSU will aim to build on its efforts and refine its short game for a strong finish to the spring season.
