Governors State University took a step toward financial empowerment on Thursday, April 10, with the “Sharing the Wealth: A Financial Empowerment Workshop.” Hosted by the Accounting, Finance, and Economics (AFE) Club, the event ran from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m., and invited students from all majors to enhance their financial literacy.
The AFE Club facilitated an interactive session led by a representative from Mesirow Wealth Management, who unpacked practical strategies for budgeting, saving, and building generational wealth.
By fostering meaningful discussions and encouraging thoughtful questions, the club created a space where financial knowledge could be easily understood and applied.
Committed to preparing students for success beyond the classroom, the AFE Club once again demonstrated its dedication to student development and empowerment.
Governors State University continues to support holistic student growth through initiatives like these, equipping future leaders with the tools to thrive both financially and professionally.
