On Thursday, April 3, Governors State University’s Software Engineering Club delivered a valuable two-hour session focused on interview preparation, resume building, and career networking.
Students actively engaged in exercises to refine their interview skills and craft compelling cover letters tailored to specific job roles.
Guest speaker Arun Vasa, a data scientist at T-Mobile, joined the session virtually for a Q&A segment. Vasa provided insightful commentary on current industry trends, shared his professional journey, and offered practical advice to those pursuing careers in software engineering and data science.
The Software Engineering Club extended sincere thanks to Assistant Professor Dr. Priyanshi Garg for inviting Vasa to speak and contribute to the session’s success.
Special appreciation also went to Brett Porter, president of the Software Engineering Club, for organizing and leading such a valuable initiative that fosters student development and professional networking. This event exemplified GovState’s dedication to connecting students with industry leaders and providing meaningful opportunities to grow, learn, and prepare for the future.
