The Women in STEM panel discussion and networking event, hosted by the College of Arts and Sciences at Governors State University on March 25, was held both virtually via Zoom and in person at Engbretson Hall,
The event featured accomplished women sharing their journeys, challenges, and successes in STEM. From 5 to 6:30 p.m., the panel discussion explored career navigation and industry insights.
Guest speakers included GovState alumni Martina Matthews, founder of Miss ChatGPT 101, and Abigail Latanich, an aquatic scientist, among other guest speakers, sharing valuable insights.
Dr. Natalie Coleman, Coordinator of Secondary Education and University Lectures, engaged with the guest speakers, asking thought-provoking questions about their experiences.
The event continued with a networking reception from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., providing an opportunity for attendees to connect with GovState alumni, students, and STEM professionals.
The event highlighted the achievements of women in STEM, fostering discussions on career growth, diversity, and overcoming barriers. Students, alumni, and STEM professionals exchanged ideas and built valuable connections.
