GovState residential students are engaging in events that promote creativity and community building. This semester, the Painting & Cupcakes Event emerged as one of the most successful gatherings, providing residents with an opportunity to explore their artistic abilities while enjoying refreshments.
The event took place on Tuesday, Feb 20, from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m., ensuring that students with night classes could also attend. Daija Brown, resident assistant in the university housing, led the event, guiding participants through the painting session and fostering a welcoming atmosphere.
University Housing supplied all necessary materials, including paints, brushes, and cupcakes, allowing participants to create unique works of art. The event fostered an interactive environment where students exchanged ideas, experimented with various painting techniques, and appreciated each other’s artistic expressions.
“This event highlighted the creative potential of our residents,” said the event organizer.
The event reinforced the significance of artistic expression and community engagement within student housing. Participants departed with both their completed artwork and a sense of personal achievement.
Given the strong turnout and positive reception, GovState’s University Housing intends to continue organizing events that encourage creative exploration and strengthen the residential community.
