Hello, Jaguars! Last week, the warmth of the season was alive and well at Governor State during the Holiday Meal Drive-Up event. The line stretched far and wide, filled with eager faces and plenty of holiday cheer as the university shared something truly special—a complimentary frozen turkey, complete with all the sides and desserts to make a memorable holiday meal.
Organized by the Center for Student Engagement and Intercultural Programs, the event brought together a dedicated team of volunteers from across the campus. From the Veterans Resource Center and College of Education and Human Development to the Volleyball Team, Student Senate, and Indian Club, everyone came together to hand out more than 100 meals to students, staff, and even members of the surrounding community.
As one of the lucky recipients, I can’t emphasize enough how much this gesture means, especially during the holiday season. These meals didn’t just feed families—they brought a sense of connection and care that defines the spirit of our university.
Thank you to all the incredible volunteers and organizers who made this event possible. It’s moments like these that remind us how special it is to be part of the Governor State community. Let’s carry this spirit forward into the rest of the holiday season!
