Governors State men’s basketball team took control from the start, defeating East-West 91-70 with a strong team performance that showcased their offensive firepower and defensive prowess. With a shooting percentage of 47.9% from the field and a powerful rebounding presence, Governors State maintained the lead and never looked back.

The team’s starters set the tone early. Vincent Mayes led the way with 14 points and dominated the boards, grabbing 9 rebounds. Tyrell Isom contributed 12 points in just 18 minutes, efficiently hitting 4 of 8 shots including a three-pointer. Isaiah Tolbert displayed his playmaking skills, dishing out 7 assists and contributing 4 steals, while Vincent Davis made an impact with 10 points in just 11 minutes.

Kevin Vance was a force off the bench, recording a double-double with 13 points and a game-high 11 rebounds, anchoring the defense and giving Governors State a commanding presence under the basket.
