The Governors State Jaguars men’s soccer team secured a solid 2-0 victory over Trinity Christian in their latest match, displaying a strong defensive performance and timely scoring. After a scoreless first half, the Jaguars found their rhythm in the second half to break the deadlock and secure the win, improving their season record.
The breakthrough came in the 71st minute when defender Alexander Judd, assisted by midfielder Raul Garcia, netted the first goal, putting the Jaguars up 1-0. Just 10 minutes later, midfielder Javier Losa sealed the game. Governors State recorded 20 shots in total, with 10 of those on target, showing persistent attacking effort throughout the match.
Defensively, the Jaguars were disciplined, with goalkeeper Marcal Salom Chandre making five crucial saves to keep a clean sheet. The backline held strong, despite three yellow cards being issued to Flavio Di Palma, Alexander Judd, and John Gonzalez, who were able to avoid any further disciplinary action.
The Jaguars will aim to continue their momentum as they prepare for their next match on Oct. 16 against Viterbo University.
