Jaguar Pride has had a week off due to Radio Jaguar technical difficulties, and it will air twice on Thursday, March 28, at 10 a.m. and noon, prior to the 1 p.m. First Voice Story Slam event. This episode of Jaguar Pride features Dr. Kerri Morris and Dr. Novia Pagone, faculty leads of Media Across the Curriculum (MAC), discussing the First Voice Story Slam and explaining what MAC is within the Center for Community Media and Governors State University.
Morris and Pagone go over the history of the First Voice Story Slam and GovState’s version of The Moth type of storytelling. This year’s topic is “When The Wheels Came Off.” The interview will be a great setup for the Story Slam.
There will be a workshop prior to event at 12:30 p.m. with special guest coaches Shannon Cason, the Slam’s host an a professional storyteller; Dr. Patrick Santoro, TAPS Full Professor; and Prof. Eddie Gamboa, GovState Director of Forensics. The winners of First Voice on Thursday will go on to compete in the Grand Slam on Thursday, April 11, at 6 pm. in the E-Lounge.
