As the holiday season approaches, it’s the perfect time to reflect on the values that make our communities strong and vibrant. This Giving Tuesday, we invite you to give to the Center for Community Media (CCM) at Governors State University.
Your help will aid the CCM’s mission to promote, develop, and support community access broadcasting that serves the digital information needs of both the campus and Southland communities.
The CCM’s purpose is to connect communities through compelling stories. It is a hub for teaching and research that strives to highlight local experiences. Through educational and local public service media, the CCM focuses on telling stories that resonate with the community and build a deeper understanding of the world around us.
Serving the mission and strategic plan of GSU, the CCM engages in scholarly and co-curricular activities that unite people, build trust, foster media literacy, promote democratic engagement, increase civic awareness, and amplify the diverse voices within our community. By doing so, the CCM contributes to the enrichment of the community’s social fabric and strengthens the bonds that hold us together.
To ensure the continuation of these impactful initiatives, the CCM relies on the generosity of individuals who believe in the power of community-driven storytelling. This Giving Tuesday, you can make a meaningful contribution to the CCM Fund.
Your donation will directly support the CCM’s mission to create content that matters, bringing attention to local issues and fostering a sense of community. Whether you can give a little or a lot, every contribution makes a difference. Most of the funds will find their way to students in the form of paid learning experiences or tools they can use to succeed in the future.
Although Giving Tuesday is coming soon, there is no reason to wait. Any day is a good day to help. Visit our secure donation page to make your contribution.
Your support will help the CCM grow as a catalyst for positive change, connecting communities and amplifying voices that might otherwise go unheard.
