GSU will celebrate Commencement 2023

Excitement is in the air as graduation season approaches; for many students, it’s a time of celebration and reflection on all their hard work and accomplishments.

GSU’s 2023 commencement will bring a week full of activities scheduled for grads plus multiple ceremonies planned over three days.

The Doctoral Hooding Ceremony and Reception will take place on Thursday, May 11, 2023, at 6:30 p.m. The event will be held at the Center for Performing Arts & Hall of Governors.

The Honorary Degree Recipient Reception and Dinner will take place the following day, Friday, May 12, at 5 p.m. at the Center for Performing Arts. This event is by invitation only.

On Saturday, May 13, the Commencement Day for the College of Arts & Sciences and the College of Business will take place at 10 a.m. at the Tinley Park Convention Center and Hotel.

Later that same day, the Commencement Day for the College of Education and the College of Health & Human Services will take place at 4:30 p.m. at the Tinley Park Convention Center.

Both ceremonies at the Tinley Park Convention Center will require tickets. Parking is limited at this location so guests are being encouraged to carpool. Graduates do not need tickets to attend. The deadline for acquiring guest tickets has passed.

A live webcast of the events will be available through GSU’s website on Commencement Day. More information about commencement along with a list of FAQs can be found here.
