African American Read-in is Today
Governor’s State will hold its annual African American Read-in on Monday, Feb. 27. This event allows students, faculty, staff, alumni, and members of the community to participate and read excerpts from the writings of African American literary legends.
This event is coordinated by Dr. Rashidah Muhammad-Connor. It has been held at GSU for the past 29 years. The origins of the event can be traced by to the Black Caucus of the National Council of Teachers of English. Their goal was to make literacy an important part of Black History Month.
In 2023, there are more than 6 million participants across the world. Please don’t forget to participate at this wonderful event happening on campus at 6 p.m. in the Hall of Honors on Feb. 27.
