GSU’s First Voice Story Slam is back with the theme “Lemonade” — when life gives you lemons, you make lemonade or drink it.  

The event asks students to participate by speaking about a time when life handed them a not-so-great situation and how they made the best of it. Join peers this Friday, April 15, at 6 p.m. in GSU’s E-Lounge.  

Like a poetry slam, First Voice Story Slam is a community-focused, open-mic storytelling competition where GSU students can share a 5-to-10 minute story on the “Lemonade” theme.  

All GSU students can compete in the First Voice Story Slam. 

Have a story in mind; join the other competitors with a chance to win cash prizes. The first prize is $250, the second is $150, and the honorable mention receives $50.  

Stories will be scored by audience vote. The top six scorers become finalists and will advance to the Grand Slam competition set for April 29, to compete for the cash prizes.
