Lightwire Theater to light up the stage at GSU

GSU will offer an enchanting evening of “Lightwire Theater: A Very Electric Christmas” on Saturday, Dec. 11, with two showings at 1 pm and 5 pm. Tickets can be purchased at GSU’s box office as well as found here online. The event will be held at the Center for Performing Arts building.

The event includes puppetry, choreography, and contemporary lighting accessories to foster a magical experience and an opportunity for an adventure through lights, music, and props. Attendees will be treated to many timeless musical holiday favorites, including songs by Nat King Cole and Mariah Carey, plus orchestral works by Tchaikovsky.

Lightwire Company most recently starred as semi-finalists on NBC’s America’s Got Talent. This year, Lightwire is presenting “A Very Electric Christmas,” a tale that centers on Max, a young bird, and his family as they set off for travels southward for winter. Their journey runs into several bumps, and Max gets jilted off track and finds himself at the North Pole.

Lightwire brings a unique, imaginative approach to storytelling this holiday season, tapping into the captivating family tale of Max and the many surprises that befall his journey, like meeting dancing toy soldiers, caroling worms, and performing poinsettia flowers.

Executive director Lana Rogachevskaya encourages all to attend and enjoy the holiday spirit.

“We are excited to welcome the holidays with arts and science-inspired events,” she said. “Lightwire Theater and the STEAM fair will engage young community members and inspire curiosity while introducing them to the wonder of electroluminescent technology, science, arts, sculpture, robotics, and the arts.”
