Jaguars edge St. Francis in soccer tournament; advance to semi-finals

GSU’s men’s soccer team lived up to its third-seed status by defeating sixth-seeded St. Francis 3-2 in their first CACC conference tournament match on April 13 on the losers’ home field.

St. Francis came out strong by scoring the first goal. However, the Jaguars answered back with goals from Agustin Vivas and Hamzat Sanni. Goalkeeper Luis Ramirez also led the team to a win with six saves.

The Jaguars will hit the road on April 15 to take on second-seed Lincoln College in the tournament semi-finals. Earlier this season, the Jaguars edged them in a 3-2, double overtime win. The team will need to be on their “A-game” to pull out a win.
