Governors State University Partners with mRelief to Provide Extra SNAP and Food Benefits for Students
GSU recognizes the extra need for resources that families and people have been in lack of during times of the pandemic and those that still need those very resources right now. The Office of the Dean of Students has sent out an email regarding a recent partnership that has been made with mRelief and their plan to distribute extra food resources to those who need them.
What could you do with an additional $150 a month, especially
during the COVID-19 pandemic?
GSU is excited to work with mRelief in an effort to curb food needs by students and needy families. The Office of the Dean of Students explains in further detail per email that “mRelief is a Chicago-based nonprofit that helps connect students to food resources such as SNAP benefits (also known as food stamps) through their easy to use platform on text, web, and voice. mRelief has connected more than 500,000 families to social services and is focused on helping more students receive SNAP benefits”.
