On Halloween night, Governors State University is hosting a screening of the film “Serial Mom.” Released in 1998, this film is a classic dark comedy directed by John Waters, perfect for the Halloween season. The movie follows Beverly Sutphin, a mother of two children, who loves her family to the point of murder.
Throughout the movie, Waters will give commentary on the film regarding its inspirations and process of filming. Coupled with the screening of this iconic film and commentary will be a question-and-answer session with the director after the film.
Student tickets will be $20, and all other tickets will start at $39. The show will take place on Oct. 31, at 8 p.m. and is recommended for ages 18 and up. However, GovState students should stop by the Center for Performing Arts for a chance to scan the QR code and possibly receive a free ticket. The first 50 students to scan the code will have the chance to attend free.
