Applications are open for Governors State University Student Senate elections.
The Student Senate has elections every spring. Elected senators represent student groups the following year. Student Senate allows students to become leaders and advocates for change on campus. Applications are available on Jaguar Connection in the “forms” section.
The Student Senate represents student concerns, allocates club budgets, governs student organizations, and collaborates with university faculty and staff. Each applicant must collect 25 signatures and ID numbers from GovState students who endorse their candidacy. Then, they will have the opportunity to campaign and create a flier announcing their candidacy.
Senators are required to attend all meetings, join committees and attend a leadership conference in May.
