The Governors State University men’s golf team teed off at the Clash at The Creek on Oct. 1, hosted by Joliet Junior College. The Jaguars faced a tough course and competitive field but hung in there, showing grit throughout the round.
Dan Davila led the way for GSU, posting a steady 80, followed by Ryan Fontaine with an 81 and Zach Hickman with an 82, putting together a solid trio at the top for the Jaguars.
Louis Wappler added an 87, while Jack Hayhurst rounded out the top five with an 88. The rest of the squad saw Trevor Stout come in with a 90, Austin Bjes at 91, Charles Dunford at 96, and Isaac Mackan finishing with a 99. Each player faced challenges but stayed focused to complete their rounds. Overall, Governors State finished 7th in the A flight and 11th out of 13 teams in the B flight.
