Radio Jaguar, the GovState student-run internet radio station, has been experiencing technical difficulties since the end of spring break.
Lara Hrycaj, Radio Jaguar faculty advisor, arrived to the Radio Jaguar booth to discover no power on the morning of Tuesday March 19. The power was quickly turned back on by early Tuesday afternoon, but the Radio Jaguar stream was disabled during the power outage.
The stream is currently online again with a temporary musical playlist, but the live programming from the radio booth is not communicating with the streamer. Shows affected but the stream issues are: “Fresh Ideas at Noon” with DJ Tam (Tuesdays noon-2 p.m.) and “Sounds and Breakdowns” with Richi Bernard (Wednesdays 2-3 p.m.). The Thursday, March 21 episode of “Jaguar Pride” could be affected by this issue.
Hrycaj still plans to interview Dr. Novia Pagone and Dr. Kerri Morris about the upcoming First Voice Story Slam for “Jaguar Pride” on Thursday, March 21 at noon. She hopes the interview air live, but the streaming woes might force her to record the program to air later on Radio Jaguar.
