The sixth annual Chicago Southland International Film Festival will take place at GSU, led by Co-Founders Joshua E. Young and Suzanne E. Patterson. The event will run from Thursday, April 4 to Saturday, April 6, and it will showcase 31 short films split into five short film programs and two feature films.
The festival will kick-off at 5 p. in the F wing atrium on April 4 with a cocktail reception and full bar, where attendees will get a chance to relax and converse before the show. The first short film program will begin at 6:15 p.m., followed by the first feature film, Provo, at 8:10 p.m. All screenings for the films will take place in the F1622 amphitheater.
The April 5 session starts at 6 p.m. with the second short film program, followed by the second feature film, Bike Vessel, at 8 p.m. The final day of the event will feature the last three short film programs, starting at 12:30 p.m. on April 6. The event will conclude with the VIP Awards Reception at 6 p.m. in the E lounge.
Tickets are on sale now, and can be purchased online through the CSIFF’s Eventive site for $15 per film, and $25 for the VIP Awards Reception. There are also three different festival passes available for those interested. The standard festival pass includes access to all films and Q&A sessions for $90, and the VIP festival pass includes all films, Q&A, plus the cocktail reception and VIP Awards Reception for $110. The all-access festival pass includes everything, plus the option to watch all the films online April 7 to 14 in case you miss one for $200. There also is a virtual festival pass for $200.
Students receive $5 off tickets with discount code “#studenttix,” or they can purchase a standard festival pass or virtual festival pass for $50 with discount code “#studentpass.” Veterans and GSU faculty, staff, and alumni also are eligible for discounts.
