Theatre and Performance Studies sets new dates for ‘bobrauschenbergAMERICA’

Theatre and Performance Studies has scheduled new dates for its performances of BobrauschenbergAMERICA by Charles Mee and directed by Dr. Patrick Santoro.

The Center for Performing Arts webpage describes this play as: “A wild road trip through our American landscape—in a play made as one of America’s greatest artists, Robert Rauschenberg, might have conceived it if he had been a playwright instead of a painter: a collage of people and places and music and dancing, of love stories and picnics and business schemes and shootings and chicken jokes and golfing, and of the sheer exhilaration of living in a country where people make up their lives as they go.”

That description leaves much to the imagination about what the performance will be. Tickets are $29/ $17/ $6 (taxes and handling fees included). The updated live streaming information is below.

Thursday, May 6 at 7:30 PM

Friday, May 7 at 7:30 PM

Saturday, May 8 at 7:30 PM

Call 708-235-2222 for more information about tickets.

Critic Tim Treanor says “bobrauschenbergAMERICA” is, “about what it’s like to live in a free country, where you can see what you see, even if it’s wrong, and say what you want, even if it’s stupid.”

“BobrauschenbergAMERICA” is a work for the times.
