Play at Performing Arts Center Offers a Virtual Trip Across America
Want to take a road trip through the American landscape from the comfort of your home? A play by Charles Mee and directed by Patrick Santoro will be streaming live from April 8 to 10.
The event will take place virtually, according to the GSU Center of Performing Arts announcement page, “in a play made in the manner in which one of America’s greatest artists, Robert Rauschenberg, might have conceived it if he had been a playwright instead of a painter: a collage of people and places and music and dancing, of love stories, picnics, business schemes, shootings, chicken jokes and of the sheer exhilaration of living in a country where people make up their life as they go.”
According to critic Tim Treanor, bobrauschenbergAMERICA is “about what it’s like to live in a free country, where you can see what you want, even if it’s wrong, and say what you want, even if it’s stupid.”
The prices of the tickets are $6, $17, and $29. Although the arts should be accessible to all, please pay what you can; the prices are per household and include processing and handling fees.
