Speaker and Vocalist Needed for Virtual Graduation
The Spring 2021 Student Speaker and Vocalist Committee is accepting applications for Student Speaker and Student Vocalist for the virtual Spring commencement ceremony.
The students must have a GPA of 2.5 or better, and demonstrate service and campus involvement. The 2021 Commencement ceremony eligible participants are 2020 December graduates, 2021 Spring candidates for graduation and 2021 Summer candidates for graduation.
The student selected will provide an inspirational, motivational 3–5-minute speech. The Student Vocalist will have the honor of singing our National Anthem.
How students will be selected:
Speakers will be selected based on the quality of presentations, academic record, and contributions to campus life. The speech should have an encouraging message for the class of 2021 to persevere through the challenges to come.
The student vocalist will audition and perform a cappella (without accompaniment). The selected vocalist will be judged by the quality of vocal ability, quality of vocal tonality and the quality of presentation.
Keep an eye on your student e-mail if you are a finalist to meet with the Committee for audition and to respond to questions about their qualifications. Students may apply for both positions, but they will be allowed to accept only one of the positions.
The deadline is March 15, submit your application via Jaguar Connection, if you have any questions about the selection process, feel free to email [email protected]
